Story submissions will be posted on a rolling basis, so keep checking back if you don’t see your story right away! You are also welcome to submit multiple forms if you’d like to respond to more than one story prompt.

Children under 18

We want to hear from kids who love the James River! But please note – we cannot accept submissions for anyone under the age of 18 directly. A parent or guardian may submit a story on behalf of anyone under the age of 18.

Uploading media files

Accepted file formats include image (JPEG, PNG, PDF), video (MPEG4, MOV, WMV, AVI), and audio (MP3, WAV) files, with a maximum size of 10 MB per file, and maximum 5 files per submission. If you have a video clip that is bigger than 10MB or any other trouble uploading files, please contact us at
