You may know Richmond-based artist Matt Lively best from his famous “bee-cycle” murals around the city, but he paints many other subjects as well, including his favorite river spot Pony Posture.

He shares how he first became enamored by the river as a teenager and how this came full circle for him with his own daughter. Matt also highlights his outdoor painting group that gathers on the banks of the James to paint together, as well as his approach to painting the river, using his craft to create an immersive piece of art.
